The New Year is rapidly approaching, and my to-do list is longer than the number of hours that I have left. I am horrible at finishing tasks, especially those that have very little excitement and fun. But this year is different because I will not make a fake New Year's Resolution, an often empty list of things that I never end up accomplishing. I think the reason that I never meet these goals, like losing weight, getting out of debt, saving more money, getting organized, and spending more time with my family, are not really my goals. Sure they are things that I need to do, but they are more aspects of negative behaviors that I need to move away from rather than goals that I need to move toward in order to fulfill my life purpose.
So in 2009, I will take a different approach. I am starting a new system of planning. I call it - Goal Setting With God. Starting tonight at 9 pm, I will spend two hours praising and worshipping and seeking God's plan for my life. The result of true intimacy with God yields supernatural revelation of the greatest kind. This is how I will enter the every day of the new year.
