Be Alert

It's funny how we never hear anything about terror alerts any more. During the previous Presidential term, we had become all to familiar with code reds, orange alerts, and elevated yellows. I think every other week the media brought reports to Americans to live with their eyes wide open while near federal buildings, airports, or while attending public events. We were constantly aware that our enemies were planning to get us and that they could and would strike any moment lest we became viligant in our awareness of our surroundings. The reality of an ever present enemy was especially obvious in larger cities. When I traveled to New York, before you could enter the tunnel, you sensed that something was significantly different than the rural town I called home. You watched dozens of police uniformed and plain clothed randomly stopping vehicles that didn't fit any profile yet seemed quite possibly able to carry out some type of mass destruction. As people shuffled down busy sidewalks, everything appearing New York normal, you got the feeling that everyone held their bags a little tighter, walked a little swifter, and every so often peered over their shoulders in case they spotted a suspicious looking backpack or trench-coat suicide bomber. Let's just say everyone was aware that the security level had been heightened to some extreme level of danger, while back home everyone still moved slow, left their dooors unlocked, smiling and waving to every passer-by. I became more aware in New York than I am at home. After all at home I know almost everybody and what's gonna happen in Opelousas that the Chief and the Sheriff aren't capaable of foiling? Or did living in a rural area make me more foolish, more susceptible to my enemies' devices?

Life in the spirit realm is the same way. Our enemy is always looking for ways and opportunities to attack us. He is subtle and he travels to work like everyone else. His vehicle doesn't always stand out, but he is ever present and waiting to attack. There are people who living in active, busy spiritual states and are always aware of the terror alert. These people live opposite their natural counterparts, instead of moving quickly and grabbing on tighter, they slow down, and they let go. They are reminded that by moving slower they can better hear when God sounds the alarm, as He instructs us and guides us out of harms way. They let go of their agendas, their thoughts, their plans, and their actions and the grab hold of Jesus' lead by only doing what they see and hear the Father say and do! They aren't susceptible to the enemy because they know that there are traps set to trip them up and to bombard them with deadly devices.

In the wake of our new President's popularity, we haven't heard a terror alert. It seems like the world wants to make friends and cease opposing our beloved country. Long held foes, now embrace our leader as Global friend! Maybe we have made peace with our enemies or maybe our country uses a different strategy and only informs us when their is actually a need, rather than keeping us alert and alarmed. However, we cannot afford to forget about the high levels of security that Christians need to remain aware and altert. Our enemy has not forged a newfound friendship with us, he does not want to play nice, nor has he decided to stop the threats. So be viligant, be aware, be alert! Watch what and who the enemy brings into your surroundings, watch what he tries to get you to respond with in your flesh and emotions, and definitely watch what you say! This week the Lord has revealed a Code RED, (reveal enemy's devices). Your enemy has employed soldiers who are carrying his backpacks, driving his vehicles, and are wearing his suicidal bombs attached to their hearts. But God has prepared you - you are ready to spot your enemy, capture his plan, and disarm his weaponry!

Remember, today and everyday, no weapon formed against you will prosper! Be blessed.

Renewed!

For a while I have been considering making changes to the blog. Blogs are the "it" tool of the century. I mean everyone has a blog - I mean everyone. There are blogs for fashion, crafting, networking, rambling, business, and motivation / inspiration. If you've never visited other blogs, you really should. There are some really edgy blogs out there, and after visiting Dr. Medina Pullings' website, she is truly a woman on a mission. She reminds women of all sizes, shapes, and colors to be the QUEENs they were made to be. I love her message, and I embrace her philosophy that a woman should look and act like a lady! So many people are having identity crises because they don't know who they are and whose image they reflect.

I realized that Christians are supposed to lead the pack. If my blog is going to be life changing for people who "accidentally" stumble onto the page, there has to be something that will not only grab their attention, but it must also captivate them into reading the posts and gleaning tidbits from the pearls of wisdom. So the blog got a makeover~ I spend my days and sometimes nights giving women physical and spiritual makeovers and thought the blog was due a few minor changes. A new blog ~ A new attitude!

Yesterday, the world gathered for Easter festivities and I am still celebrating the Resurrection of the Messiah. It really is my favorite holy-day. Don't get me wrong I like Christmas, because we reflect on the birth of Christ. But the truth of the matter is that Jesus' birth did not make us brand new, His death, burial, resurrection, and ascension to the Father is what saves us! After a day of worshipping God for His divine mercy, grace, and love, I had time to reflect on where God has brought me from. A couple of years ago, I had a supernatural experience like never before. I felt the presence of God surrounding me, embracing me, and covering me. I am sure that people around me saw or felt nothing, but I did! That is the thing about God, He is so personal. Anyway I felt more loved and joyful than I ever have. It was as if we were the only two in a room that actually held thousands! I have had several God encounters before and since then, but none compare to that day. I had nearly forgotten about it until yesterday. God quietly and softly nudged me from a deep sleep and reminded me of that glorious experience. He also spoke in that still soft voice (you know the one that you think is in your head or the one you call something that tells you to do stuff) and said, "Remember that day you felt me all around you on the floor? Well, I planted an irrevocable seed in you that day, and I am bringing that seed to fruition. Your life will never be the same, Love Your Daddy, God!"

What an awesome word from the Lord. To think that God took the time on Resurrection Sunday to remind me that the seeds that He planted in my life, seeds that seem dormant or even dead are alive. He is personally resurrecting His plans and purpose for my life. Now you may think that this is strange or you may think why doesn't stuff like this happen to you, but this is truth. God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. He chooses who he will bless and how He will bless us. God is also no respecter of persons, He doesn't play favorites. What He is doing for me, HE will also do for you. So be encouraged! That thing that you thought was dead and even forgot was there because it seemed dormant, well God is breathing on it, and at His appointed time He will resurrect and put life into it. Now I am not promising that when I get my breakthrough that you will too! But know that God knows your season, and He has your times in His hands. So get ready for renewed visions, dreams, goals, situations, relationships. Take some time to renew your walk with Jesus, pray, read, meditate on the scripture.

Today is a new day in your life! God is renewing you and me! God has not forgotten you! Walk into your season. By the way, I know that you have to be a blessing to get a blessing, so I am having a contest.

Here are the rules:
  • refer someone "new" to the blog
  • post a "new" comment about the new look of the blog
  • say a prayer of intercession that God renews someone you know needs it

Everyone that posts a comment will have their name entered in basket. My beloved son will have the privilege of drawing the "blessed" name. The winner will receive a "NEW' pair of handmade by "Jewelz" red earrings (to remind you that you are covered in Jesus' blood and no weapon formed against you shall prosper).

Be blessed!

One Drop in a Bucket

I have been on an unofficial hiatus from the blog. Okay, truthfully, I took March off to pursue a few other projects. It's been said that perhaps I have too many irons in the fire, but it is a woman's choice to multitask, delegate, and delete things that don't reinforce our life's mission.
Now I know that some of you may be thinking that the real reason that I am posting is because this is my birthweek. But that would just be plain shallow. After all, I don't celebrate birth days, I celebrate my birth month! Like the spring chicken that I was born, I really come alive around Easter. My mom once told me that I was born Easter weekend many moons ago, and I believe that my spirit resurrects during this time, giving me a renewed faith in God's plan for my life.

Today I saw a single drop of water hanging on the tip of a grassy green leaf. It seemed that the leaf had squeezed the solitary droplet from its veins. I stood in awe watching and waiting to see what would happen. It didn't fall and plunge to the ground as I expected; it simply clung to the extreme edge of the leaf as if it knew that separation from its source would instantly cause the moisture to evaporate into thin air. For at least an hour I observed this miracle of nature. Isn't it amazing how all of creation without fail continues to fulfill its God given purpose since the dawn of Eden? If only human kind were that obedient!

I am sure that the water ran down its source or perhaps it moistened the newly budding leaves directly seated below the parent leaf. But honestly, I did not see it happen nor had I ever witnessed this act before. I guess it was my season to see God's hand at work in my space. I definitely learned several valuable lessons:
  • there are seasons that our spirits birth drops of moisture from our spiritual veins through a process of purging and sacrifice
  • we, like that droplet, must cling to our source until we are released into our assignment
  • sometimes our task is to water new buds that sit beneath us gleaning the knowledge of how to grow from our walk
  • often times we appear unnoticed until the moment God declares it our season to be a witness to those who need to see the Lord at work in their lives
  • it is possible that at other times we must out pour and overflow out of our source, Jesus, and into the dry soil that needs to be refreshed and revived

Finally, let's realize that no matter what, we are fearfully and wonderfully made. We are made in the image of God and have been assigned to our space in the world to walk in dominion and rule with kingdom authority. You are significant, you are called, you are destined - you are that one drop in someone's bucket!

Have a blessed day! Tomorrow as you begin your day, ask God to reveal to you those who you have been sent to water; pray and ask Him to open their spiritual eyes that they may understand your purpose in their lives. Pray Ephesians 1, and watch God pour revelation knowledge into your spirit. You will see with new eyes, and understand with new meaning. A whole new portal awaits you!
